The best way to experience the beauty of Tuscany is by car, so we strongly recommend renting one during your stay to make the most of your trip!

We highly recommend renting a car for greater flexibility. Taxis are not always readily available, and there’s no Uber or Lyft in the area. Plus, Tuscany’s countryside is best explored by car!

While Pienza doesn’t have its own train station, you can take a train to Chiusi-Chianciano Terme, which is about a 25–30 minute drive from Pienza. Trains to Chiusi run from major cities like Florence and Rome.

From Chiusi, you can take a taxi, shuttle, or rental car to reach Pienza.

Another option is to take the train to Siena, about an hour from Pienza, and continue by car or taxi.

Pienza is a wonderful city to stay in, with plenty to see and do, and you can easily explore it on foot without needing a car.
